Mahler
The monograph forms an important event both in the writers work and in Polish musical writing in general. In Pociejs literary evolution it is the crowning-point of research, lasting for many years, into the epoch of late Romanticism and Mahler's music, while - in the methodological sense - it is the most comprehensive presentation of musical hermeneutics with philosophical orientation. The only one in the Polish musicological literature, this monograph on Mahler constitutes the first, creative and original attempt at the synthesis of his work. [Leszek Polony]
