Cabaret Songs for Voice and Piano
Jan Kaczmarek has left a permanent trace on the map of Polish cabaret as a master of grace and allusion, a combination of a modest band with an intelligent sociologist. The two hundred of his songs (twenty one are presented in this edition) are a fruit of shrewd intelligence, crossed with a great sense of humor.
Jan Kaczmarek's career started in 1968 with the performance of ''A Ballad about Wanda'' during ''A Survey of Student Song'' in Wrocław. After the concert Tadeusz Drozda suggested that they should form a cabaret and thus ''Elita'' was formed.
''Elita'' performed all over Poland and also in the USA, Canada, Australia and the Republic of South Africa.
