Agata Zubels composition Aforyzmy na Miłosza (Aphorisms on Miłosz), was commissioned by the organisers of the Sacrum Profanum Festival to celebrate the year of Czesław Miłosz, held as a result of the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of the Master. The text was taken from a few fragments of his works. The nature of the subsequent parts Spojrzenie, Biegacz, Boleść, Otchłań, Płomień, Podszewka, Jeżeli, are brilliantly captured in music.The Aforyzmy are written for solo soprano, string quintet, percussion, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, trumpet and accordion. The premiere took place on September 15, 2011 at the Sacrum Profanum Festival, during a concert at the Museum of Urban Engineering. Agata Zubel personally performed the solo part, the Klangforum Wien orchestra was led by Clement Power.
