Jan Krenz's Fifty Years with a Baton
The book is the first publication devoted to the artistic achievements of Jan Krenz, the outstanding conductor and composer. It is a record of reflections on the work of Polish 20th-century composers, a document of mutual professional and personal relations with artists, an attempt at establishing the facts concerning the most recent history of musical life. The main motif is supplemented by chapters devoted to his work with orchestras, film music and cooperation with such outstanding directors as Andrzej Wajda and Andrzej Munk. The whole forms a colorful picture of Poland's musical landscape and is an excellent characterization of this splendid artist and incomparable story-teller.
