It is Padlewski's last work to be composed before the war, during several days of June 1939. It is the most mature work of this period written in free polyphonic technique, which combines a linear construction, sometimes expanded to seven-voice polyphony, with recitative sections of purely tonal character, which are emphasised within the sharpness of interval structure...
