The aim of the present publication is to prepare fully a young musician for the proper performance of art music based on dances. Each work is accompanied by a short description of the history of the dance in question, a typical rhythmic formula and metre as well as the manner of dancing. The descriptions are illustrated by drawings of characteristic dance figures.
