The cycle of pieces entitled ''Trios pieces caractéristiques pour piano'' is the work of a young student of the Warsaw Conservatory, composed - judging by the title - in Paris, where she went in order to broaden her knowledge and skills as well as to become familiar with the musical milieu of that city and its outstanding figures. [...] Despite the fact that this is an early ''trifle'', disregarded by the composer herself, we can recognise from the very first bars the unique character of the music, in which the impetus of fantasy, impertinence and coarseness interwine with a lyrical note, concentration and pensiveness, while the fully conscious references and inter-relations are the reason why - from the very beginning of her creative career - she found herself a leading figure of Polish music.
