Angelus Domini for mixed a cappella choir is one of the most popular works by Andrzej Koszewski, a superb composer of choral music. It was dedicated to Pope John Paul II, a great propagator of this particular prayer. Especially worthy of emphasis is the application in this work of atypical articulation - from recitation and whispering, to chanting and treatment of the choir as a type of vocal orchestra. Angelus Domini was composed in 1981, and its premiere took place in Poznań on 3 July 1981, when it was performed by the Minnesota University Singers.
