Marcin Łukasz Mazur

Marcin Łukasz Mazur graduated with distinction from The Warsaw High School of Music in 1988. In 2009 he received a doctorate in music art at The Music Academy in Gdańsk.

He started working as a conductor in 1985. He conducted choirs of Warsaw Choral Singing Society "Lutnia" (1985-1996), A. Corelli's Orchestra in Bielsko-Biała, choir and orchestra of K. Szymanowski State Music School in Warsaw and Gran Canaria Philharmonic Choir in Las Palmas, Spain (1998-2000). Since 2000 Marcin Łukasz Mazur works with The Bogorya Choir from Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

He performed on stage many times in Poland and abroad with „Lutnia” choir and The Bogorya Choir from Grodzisk Mazowiecki, winning around forty awards during numerous choral competitions and presenting world premieres of contemporary choral music composed by Kurt Bikkembergs, Krzysztof Dzierma, Andrzej Hundziak, Andrzej Koszewski, Marian Sawa, Wilbur Skeels, Romuald Twardowski and others.

Marcin Łukasz Mazur has also presented some large vocal-instrumental masterpieces with Gran Canaria Philharmonic Choir, for example The Passion of Saint John (Bach), Jesus Christ Superstar (Lloyd-Webber), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Mass in E flat major (Schubert) and Brundibár (H.Krása).

He performed in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Spain, Netherlands, Lithuania, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden and Italy.

Marcin Łukasz Mazur has composed several choral works and arranged many folk songs – mainly Christmas carols – for different kinds of choirs. Many of his works were published by Music Publishers Triangiel, WSiP, PWM Edition, Cantus Quercus Press, Edition Ferrimontana and Wychowanie Muzyczne w Szkole. He was also co-founder and president of the Music Publishers "Triangiel".
