Karol Pietrowski

Karol Pietrowski

2 poł. XVIII w.

Pietrowski Karol, Polish composer working in the second half of the eighteenth century. Lack of information about his life; manuscripts of Pietrowski’s composition, found in the collections of the parish church in Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Poznan collegiate, testify about his activities in the Wielkopolska area and his relationship with church circles. Pietrowski is one of the outstanding creators of Polish symphonic music during the Enlightenment. Only 2 of his symphonies have survived, and they are excellent examples of adaptation of the classic style.
