The ''Mini Overture'' has an irresistible grace, attractiong our attention toward the neoclassical aestetic of the scherzo-grotesque. The short, somewhat ''guarrelsome'' motifs seem to resound as if a pastiche of Stravinsky's idioms from the period of ''L'Histoire du Soldat'' (at the points where the instruments play in unison or briskly and rhythmically blast out their chords). It would be difficult to recognise Lutoslławski's hand in this work if we did not know what we were listening to. [...] [A. Chłopecki]
