The ''Mini Overture'' has an irresistible grace, attractiong our attention toward the neoclassical aestetic of the scherzo-grotesque. The short, somewhat ''guarrelsome'' motifs seem to resound as if a pastiche of Stravinsky's idioms from the period of ''L'Histoire du Soldat'' (at the points where the instruments play in unison or briskly and rhythmically blast out their chords).
