Aria e Danza
for Cello and Piano
''Aria e danza'' for cello and piano is a transcription of the second and third movements of Sonata minore prepared for Dorota Imiełowska, but originally composed for organ. The first movement (Aria) brings a romantic, richly figurated melody (first heard in the long solo of the cello) into prominence and is in the nature of an individual utterance, whereas in the second movement (Danza) both instruments make music together, with considerable emotion, impetus and virtuosity.
