Sonate de sons rayonnants
pour piano
In the four-movement Sonata the tempos are predominantly slow and moderate except for the short Furioso (2nd movement). The title Sonata de sons rayonnants (Sonata of the Radial Sounds) originates from the effect which returns many times and which could be described as an explosion of a stream of tonal rays. The harmony of the Sonata is based on strict intervallic arrangements and particularly symmetrical chords which determine the character and expression of the work. [Krzysztof Meyer]
