New issue of "Quarta" available on-line

2014-03-13

A new issue of Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne's periodical,”Quarta”, has just appeared. This will be presented in a new version - from now on it will be a bilingual magazine, published on a quarterly basis, focused on selected issues and containing repertoire recommendations.

The leading theme of the latest issue is folklore, whose echoes can be heard in many works written over the centuries by Polish composers. The issue of folk inspiration in music is the subject of an article by Danuta Gwizdalanka, "Sounds of Poland" and an interview with Maria Pomianowska. There is also no lack - addressed to performers in Poland and abroad - of repertoire recommendations associated with Polish folklore.

In the new issue we also have two inserts – entirely in Polish - devoted to upcoming events in the classical music world abroad in the near future, and special supplement dedicated to Wojciech Kilar who passed away in December 2013.

"Quarta" is also a listing of upcoming concerts of Polish works, reviews of premieres and recordings and a list of newly published books and recordings.

We encourage you to read! The new issue of "Quarta" is under this link.
