It Goes to the Fields, It Goes to the Forests...
for unaccompanied mixed choir
The words ‘the music of my soul’ from Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer’s text sound delicate and intimate; at the same time, they form the climax of the whole poem. For me they were the starting point to write a composition for Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny and the Polish National Youth Choir. Idzie na pola, idzie na bory... (‘It goes to the fields, it goes to the forests…’) is a short tale of a journey there and back – from familiar places to strange places, in which we find home again.
