This new PWM edition reconstructs the version of the score from 1938, the only version which – although containing cuts made in the finale by third parties (probably the composer’s sons) – may be regarded beyond any doubt as the work of the composer. From the tonal-harmonic point of view, The Legend of the Baltic is a work that fully respects the principles of the major-minor system and adheres to the poetic characteristic of late Romantic music.
