PWM Edition is the exclusive representative of the Ricordi publishing house in Poland
2023-03-09
PWM Edition resumes cooperation with the Italian publishing house Ricordi, as well as with its international partners forming Universal Music Publishing Classics & Screen. This means that rentals of orchestral materials from the catalogues of all publishing houses belonging to Classics & Screen is carried out in Poland by Dział Zbiorów Nutowych (Sheet Music Department) of PWM.
“I am glad that after years we resume cooperation with Universal Music Publishing Group,” says Daniel Cichy PhD, PWM’s Director – Editor-in-Chief. “Thus, Dział Zbiorów Nutowych of our publishing house becomes a place where all orchestras, opera theatres, cultural institutions, schools, universities and entities organising musical events will have an access to the sheet music of works from the catalogues of the majority of respected music publishing houses in the world. Due to the enormous popularity of the music in the catalogues of publishers such as Éditions Durand-Salabert-Eschig (Paris) and UMP Editio Musica Budapest, which are part of the group, it will be not only a great pleasure for us, but also an exciting challenge.”
“We are pleased to be working with PWM and we look forward to a fruitful relationship with them promoting our composers and catalogues in Poland,” says Natasha Baldwin, Executive Vice President of Classics & Screen.
The Italian publishing house Ricordi and its branches in Berlin, London and New York feature works by such legendary composers as Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti, modern classics as Nono, Grisey and Varèse as well as contemporary composers as Francesconi, Haas, Battistelli, Neuwirth and Wolfe. In addition to offering the industry‘s most distinguished and prestigious series of critical editions, Ricordi represents esteemed catalogues and editions such as the Rob. Forberg Verlag – one of the most important catalogues of Russian music – and the catalogue of British music publisher Alfred Lengnick.
Along with Éditions Durand-Salabert-Eschig (Paris) and UMP Editio Musica Budapest, Ricordi now resides with Classics & Screen, one of the largest publishing groups for classical music worldwide. The global classical and screen composer division of the Universal Music Publishing Group is home to more than 1900 composers such as Ravel, Dusapin, Kurtág, Aperghis, Kodály, Poulenc, Tansman, Bartók, Messiaen, Dohnányi and many more. Adding to an already versatile portfolio, Classics & Screen also consists of Decca Publishing which encapsulates a range of classical, post-classical, electronic and score composers, like Ben Frost, Isobel Waller-Bridge and Max Richter.
Through PWM Edition – the only representative of prestigious publishing groups in the world, such as Schott Music, Wise Music Group, Boosey & Hawkes and Universal Music Publishing Classics & Screen – Polish customers will now be able to rent orchestral materials from all major classical music publishers.

Time passes constantly, changing the world and its soundscape around us. The latest album by ANAKLASIS presents Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa’s cameral and symphonic works from recent years. Premiere on 28 May 2024, on the composer’s 75th birthday.
It is a musical-literary tale about a quest for identity, truth, and for what makes us human. The new stage work by Aleksander Nowak – which is, at the same time, Radek Rak’s operatic debut – explores the sources of good and evil, fusing reality with mythology and steering towards ‘the left-hand side of the world’. The authors spin a tale about the dual human nature. THE TALE OF THE HEART. FAVOLA IN MUSICA – the album that presents their joint project – will go on sale on 6th October.
