Andrzej Dutkiewicz

*1942

Andrzej Dutkiewicz, born 30 September 1942, Polish pianist and composer. In the years 1963 to 1968 he studied at the Academy of Music in Warsaw with J. Lefeld and R. Smendzianka (piano), and then in the years 1968-1973 with W. Rudziński (composition). In 1970 he won second prize at the International Competition for Performers of Contemporary Music in Rotterdam. In 1973-76 he continued his studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester under E. List (piano) and S. Adler and W. Barlow (composition). He is the founder and leader of the ensemble, "Grupa XX" which specializes in performing contemporary music. He has performed a great deal at home and abroad. He has made numerous recordings (including radio and television).
