K. Charśnicki

K. Charśnicki

†1686

Charścnicki K., born on 5 February 1686, in Krzyżanowice near Pińczów, Polish composer, Norbertine. With certain probability he can be equated with Andrzej Chaśnicki, parish priest of Krzyżanowice in the years 1683-1686. In 1674, already as a monk, he was admitted to the degree of bachelor at the Krakow Academy, and in 1681 – a master's degree. From 1683, he was the parish priest in Krzyżanowice. Two vocal and instrumental concertos by Charśnicki survive in the Jagiellonian Library (manuscript 5272): "Aeterna Christi Munera" for 2C, A, T, B, 2 VNI, vl, B.C., „Rex gloriosae martyrum” for 2 C, A, T, B, 2 vni, 2 vle (or trni), vla alta, vla ten., B.C. In both compositions the respective anthems were used.
