Antoni Habel

Antoni Habel

1760-1831

Antoni Habel, probably born in 1760 in Gnieźno, died 6 October 1831, Gnieźno, Polish composer and violinist. It is not known where he learned music. In 1794 he was taken on as first violinist in the cathedral band in Gnieźno, which testifies to his high professional qualification. In 1811 he left the band, in 1818 he returned to it again. The first information about Habel as a composer dates to 1795.
