Krzesany
for Piano
Roman Maciejewski, a composer, pianist and conductor, was an unusually interesting and original figure in the twentieth century Polish music. Drawing on Polish folk music, the composer was able to obtain frm it a complete beauty, enrich it in an artistic, far from banal, manner without detracting from the essence of the original. Krzesany is the best example of this. The construction of the spatial plan of the composition and the harmonic idiom bring to mind Chopin's mazurkas, creating in this miniature a real jewel
