Hello Little Doggy!

It is my pleasure to present another set of short works for piano, this time under the title Hello Little Doggy! Play With Us. It is designed for two young performers, and all the works are scored for four hands. In this set of works – as in Hello Reksio! for two pianos – each miniature has a title referring in its character to my music from the well-known Polish children’s television series presenting the adventures of the nice little doggy Reksio and his friends, which for many years entertained, taught and raised generations of Poles. The character of Reksio was created by Lechosław Marszałek, and all the episodes were produced at the Studio Filmów Rysunkowych in Bielsko-Biała. The tales were told by a great variety of characters in a distinctive colourful setting, employing all the available cinematographic techniques. In this set of pieces, meanwhile, we express their content solely in the form of musical miniatures, played four-handed on a piano. Depending on the abilities and sensibilities of the performers, these works may become even more interesting, since the notes produced by dextrous young fingers can arouse our boundless imagination. The further adventures which the protagonists of these musical images may encounter rest with the inventiveness of the pianists. I wish the young performers interesting and excellent interpretations of my music, and all its listeners many positive and pleasant impressions.
