Sonatas op. 12
for piano
Three sonatas op. 12 are based on early classical sonata models, as indicated by the two-part structure of two of them. However, you can also notice elements referring to the brilliant style.
In relation to the slightly later Sonatas op. 14 were written with the younger, less experienced pianist in mind. They are simpler technically and, in terms of interpretation, less complex, and polyphonic textures appear less often. They contain more dynamic and expressive instructions and were also fingered by the composer.
These are compositions with valuable pedagogical material, suitable for students in the first years of a second-cycle music school.
