Concert Suite
for piano four hands
In this Concert Suite, you will find everything close to my musical world: cantilena, jazz, Latin music, space, syncopation, playful use of colour. The most important element of the suite is rich harmony that takes us on a long journey and draws us into its multi-threaded story. And this story begins with the monumental Waltz, which sweeps us into dance while at times pulling us out of the comfortable triple meter. It is followed by Perpetuum mobile, allowing us to settle onto a soft, spacious sound cushion and experience its endless movement – until it finally ends, making room for Bossafino, a subtly swaying bossa nova. The suite concludes with Toccata jasé, its name derived from the French word jaser (to chatter, babble, ramble), which is evident in its constant, intense narrative. Though each movement of the suite is distinct in character, together they create a unified story – inviting us, the performers, to immerse ourselves in its twists and turns and guide the listener through them. So, let’s allow ourselves to be swept away by this story.
