Elegy No.1
for Solo Violin
''From the start, I thought of Elegy as an expression of musical space. In my understanding, the notes in the violin reflect what is ''inside''. Silence (rests) are equally important as are moments of temporary 'stopping'' of the motion., in which the sounds that come from ''outside'' are given voice. Balancing between the two layers a kind of ''dialogue'' works to create the essence of the piece, the essence that the score alone cannot better define. [Michał Dobrzyński]
