The studies comprising in this collection have been tested in working with children, who perform them willingly and easily as early as in their first year of piano instruction. The works have been chosen mainly with regard to the development of playing technique. However, because of their tunefulness these compositions are also memory exercises. Most of the studies are composed in the key of C major and are based on the fundamental harmonic functions with the view of making the student familiar with the first attempts at transposition.
