Anxious Dreams
for flute, marimba and cello
The work Anxious Dreams for flute, cello and marimba was originally a short study for piano based on fourth harmonies with added minor second. Initially, I had no plans for developing or expanding the work, but its concept and harmonic language reminded me of my strange dreams, which recur from time to time. Although the nocturnal images have a habit of slipping my mind, the emotions that accompany hem remain with me for longer. And it was they that led me to rewrite the work and alter the performance apparatus to reflect my dream visions more fully.
