This work was inspired by the tradition of storytelling – passing down knowledge, experience, myths and beliefs from generation to generation. This inseparable part of tribal culture enabled communities to retain awareness of their own roots for centuries. Mohawk Tale is a just such a tribal tale, told somewhere at the edge of a forest or on the shore of a great lake: by a father to his son, a grandmother to her granddaughter, a stranger to a passer-by, a young man to his sweetheart… What is this tale about? I leave the listener to answer that question.
