Shostakovich's Scores in PWM
2011-05-19
Under an agreement signed between Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne SA, and Dmitri Shostakovich Publishers (DSCH), PWM has become the official and sole representative of Dmitri Shostakovich’s repertoire in Poland. The agreement was made possible as a result of resolving a dispute between the heirs of the Russian composer’s estate. The publisher has the publishing and letting rights to all the works of Dmitri Shostakovich (covering both scores and instrumental parts) within the Commonwealth of Independent States, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, the states of former Yugoslavia and the Baltic states. DSCH also publishes works by unknown or forgotten composers, as well as compositions banned by the communist regime, such as "Antyformalistyczny rajok" by Dmitri Shostakovich, who lived to see the first public performance in 1989 under the baton of Mstislav Rostropovich.More information about Dimitri Shostakovich Publishers can be found on the publisher’s website: dsch-en.shostakovich.ru
