Monody and Fugue
for Piano
New compositions by Zygmunt Krauze are prepared for older students of music high schools. The steady quaver pulse of Monody creates an unending melody which step by step wanders from the highest to lowest register. Th e four-voice Fugue has a classic polyphonic construction. A characteristic feature of the Fugue is its even pulse: in the first part semiquavers, the second minims.
