Selected Pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries
for Piano Vol.1
Book 1 of the ''Selected 17th and 18th - century Pieces'' is intended for the initial years of instruction in a primary music school. The first nine pieces may already be played in the first or second year of instruction and the further pieces in subsequent years.
In order to provide the most readable original text, which, in accordance with the editing customs of the 17th and 18th centuries, was almost completely deprived of performance directions (slurs, accents, dynamic and tempo signs etc.), the so-called ''urtexts'' were used as the basis of the edition, with a few exceptions (Mattheson, Kirnberger, Zipoli). All the performance directions provided by the editor, i.e. tempo, dynamic, articulatory indications etc. have been placed in brackets, while the slurs have been pecked.
