The screen adaptation of Bram Stokers novel, with a cast including such Hollyowood stars as Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves. The film score was honoured by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Producers with the ''ASCAP Award 1992'' in Los Angeles as well as the ''Best Score Composer for a 1992 horror film'' in San Francisco.

The composer thus recalls the beginning of this collaboration: "Francis Ford Coppola had always been my favorite director thanks to the The Godfather and the first part of Apocalypse Now. Then one day, at 3 in the morning he called me up with a proposal to write the music for Dracula. Of course I agreed, for two reasons. First of all - I always associated cinema with Coppola because I like and appreciate ''cinema'', which in the language of film people means ''image, movement, action, great passions,'' etc., etc. If I need metaphysics, I dont go to see a film, but rather grab something from my bookshelf, either Pascal, Saint Thomas Aquinas, or simply the Scriptures. And secondly, one cant deny that - quoting The Godfather - it was an offer I couldnt refuse."
