A full length feature based on the motifs of the Adam Mickiewicz epic poem by the same name, one of the most meaningful works in all of Polish literature. Written in Paris in the 1830s, it consists of twelve books written in verse. The film version focuses on the love story of the young hero and heroine, Tadeusz and Zosia. In 2000 Wojciech Kilar received a Golden Duck (Złota Kaczka) in the category of Best Author of Original Film Score for a Polish Film, and an Eagle (Orzeł) the prize of the Polish Film Academy in the category of Best Music (2000), as well as a Platinum Disc for 20 thousand copies sold. In 2007 the Polonaise scene was honoured with a 50th anniversary Golden Duck for Best Dance.
