''S'alto'' is a concerto for alto saxophone. In this composition a number of extreme virtuoso techniques have been applied which are almost or quite unknown i saxophone literature, among them two-note octaves, harmonics, saxophone percussions effects, and playing on the valve mechanism alone and on a part of the instrument.
