The piece was written to commemorate the 145th anniversary of granting city rights to Katowice. It is a gift from Wojciech Kilar to the city in which hes been living for over sixty years. He also holds the title of Honarary Citizen. I owe Katowice my entire education, says the composer my entire life, all that is important. With this piece, I could pay tribute to the city. Im so happy to have had the chance. A year later the score was deposited in the Historical Museum in Katowice.
