Composing my First String Quartet represented an attempt at tackling a form which some consider to be the most difficult there is, as well as adding ‘a few words’ on the subject from myself. It turned out that the devil can be just as black as he is painted.
This work was written in Katowice, to a commission from the Silesian Quartet, around the turn of 2008–2009.
