Cosmos I, a one-movement symphonic piece was completed in 1970. It begins with a grand extended chord by the whole orchestra, followed by a crescendo starting with piano and gradually magnifying, derived from the idea of ''eternal movement'' so close to the composer. However, this piece is more varied rhytmically and colouristically than the former ''motoric'' pieces by Kisielewski. A short explicit leading motif passes through various instrumental groups till it reaches maximum dynamic tension; then the narration seems to stop and quiet down in the Andantino cantabile episode intoned by the woodwinds. In the conclusion, the ''cosmic'' tutti noise returns followed by an allusion to the again accelerated semiquavers of the strings.
