Wojciech Sowiński

1805-1880

As a pianist, Sowiński was a master of technique and bravura, as a composer he was able to satisfy the tastes of unrefined public which secured him a place in the French publishing market. He left numerous fantasias and paraphrases of opera for piano or violin and piano, inspired mainly by the compositions of Rossini, Meyerbeer and Halévy.
