Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra
This work, which was commissioned by the Harp Society, consists of two parts titled: Colour Games and Rhythm
Games. The first part, with clear melodic lines and rich, but varied colouristic sounds, opposes the highly rhythmical
second part, which sparks with dynamism and vitality.
As the composer said, "the invitation to write the concerto came from Mrs. Helga Stork, but the idea of writing a work for such a combination germinated in me for many years. As the author of numerous works for solo harp and solo flute and chamber music in various ensembles I had always dreamed about writing a concerto for these two instruments so close to me".
