Relief for Andrzej
for String Quartet
''A Relief for Andrzej'' for a string quartet was written on the initiative of Barbara and Ryszard Gabryś in 1995. The occasion was the ceremony of naming the Chamber Hall of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Music School in Katowice for Andrzej Krzanowski during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the school. I dedicated this short, one-movement piece to the memory of my prematurely deceased friend- Andrzej Krzanowski. (Aleksander Lasoń , Warsaw Autumn 97 Festival's Programme)
