''Shortly on Line'' for flute/piccolo, clarinet/bass clarinet, piano, violin and double bass was written in April 2001 for the European Composers' Informal Meeting - Cracow 2001 and is dedicated to ALEA Contemporary Music Ensemble Skopje, Macedonia.
The keynote of this short piece, lasting scarcely five minutes, is... a beginning, understood as a kind of stimulus, whose consequences get out of control, going beyond our expectations. The result of a causative action starts to live its own life. One may only try to observe it at some point during its long existence. [Wojciech Widłak]
