Op. 3 for Violin and Piano
''Souvenir de Posen - Mazourka caractéristique'' op. 3 by Henryk Wieniawski is one of the early works of a musician who, at the time it was produced, was already celebrated virtuoso but less known for his compositions. Wieniawski composed several works with similar titles at different periods of his life. They are, apart from Op. 3: ''Souvenir de Moscou'' Op. 6 as well as works without opus numbers, ''Souvenir de San Francisco'', and ''Souvenir de Wilno'' (lost). These ''occasional'' compositions were a token of Wieniawski's gratitude to audiences for their especially warm reception of his performances.
