Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor Op. 22
piano reduction
One of the most frequently performed Polish violin concertos, beside those by Karłowicz and Szymanowski. Wieniawski started work on the composition in 1856 and finished it in the late sixties. It is the work of a mature composer. Although the concerto is not devoid of French influences, it is a very personal work, free from direct borrowings.
